Affiliate Disclosure
How GrindMinded makes money through affiliate links, what that means for the recommendations on the site, and the site's editorial independence policy.
This page explains the financial relationship between GrindMinded and the products linked from the site. It’s written to comply with FTC guidelines and to be clear with readers about how the site operates.
How GrindMinded makes money
When you click a product link on GrindMinded and buy something, the site may earn a commission from the retailer. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your purchase price. You do not pay anything extra by using these links.
The site participates in several affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates, 1st-in-Coffee, Pro Coffee Gear, and Seattle Coffee Gear, plus direct programs with specific manufacturers and retailers as they’re added. Commissions vary by program and product, typically between 3% and 7% of the purchase price.
What this means for recommendations
Affiliate revenue funds the research, writing, and hosting that keeps the site running. It does not determine what gets recommended.
Editorial decisions are made before any link is considered. If a product is the right answer for a reader’s situation, it gets the recommendation regardless of whether it carries a commission. If a product is the wrong answer, it doesn’t get a link, regardless of the commission rate.
The site does not:
- Accept payment in exchange for positive coverage of any product
- Accept free product from manufacturers (none is offered; all coverage is on a research basis)
- Run sponsored posts, native advertising, or paid placements
- Adjust rankings in roundup articles based on commission rates
- Link to products the site wouldn’t recommend if commission were zero
How links are tagged
Outbound product links are tagged with the relevant retailer’s affiliate ID. You can verify this by hovering over a link and checking the URL — most affiliate links include a tracking parameter. The tags don’t change the product, the price, or your shopping experience. They just let the retailer know the referral came from GrindMinded.
Disclosure placement
The site shows an affiliate disclosure at the bottom of every page that includes product links or recommendations. The disclosure is also restated at the start of any article that contains a primary product recommendation, so the reader is aware of the relationship before reading the recommendation itself.
Corrections and updates
If you find a product link that doesn’t work, a price that’s significantly out of date, or a recommendation that no longer reflects the current market, please reach out via the contact page. The site values accuracy and updates articles when the underlying information has changed.
For the rest of the site’s policies, see the privacy policy and the about page.
